2. What closes in Ho Chi Minh City, and what does not

Good news first. Vietnam does not shut down for National Day the way it does for Tet. The city stays awake, and finding a spa open on National Day is far easier here than during Tet.

Open as normal, or busier than normal:

• Restaurants, cafés, street food stalls
• Shopping malls and convenience stores
• Museums and most tourist attractions
• Bui Vien walking street and the whole night-time economy
