Five days off, a city in flags, and half the businesses on your list with the shutters down. Vietnam’s National Day break is the second-biggest holiday of the year after Tet, and the question every traveller and every Saigon resident types into a phone on 2 September is the same one: what is actually open? If a massage is on that list, here is the short version — Siz Spa is a spa open on National Day, every day of the holiday, with the full menu running.
Quick answer: Siz Spa in District 1 stays open right through the 2026 National Day holiday, 10:00 to 22:15 daily, including 2 September itself. The public-sector break runs five days, Saturday 29 August to Wednesday 2 September, so District 1 will be full. Every treatment on our menu is available, but the good time slots go early — book ahead rather than walking in.
1. The 2026 National Day holiday dates
Vietnam’s National Day marks the declaration of independence on 2 September 1945. The holiday around it is fixed by the Ministry of Home Affairs each year, and 2026 produces an unusually long run.
| Date | Day | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Sat 29 August | Saturday | Weekend |
| Sun 30 August | Sunday | Weekend |
| Mon 31 August | Monday | Day off, swapped with Saturday 22 August |
| Tue 1 September | Tuesday | Statutory National Day holiday |
| Wed 2 September | Wednesday | National Day |
That is a five-day continuous break for public-sector workers, from Saturday 29 August through Wednesday 2 September. The private sector gets 2 September plus one adjacent day — either 1 or 3 September — chosen by each employer, so your Vietnamese friends may be back at a desk on Thursday or may not.
The details come from Notice No. 9441/TB-BNV. You can read the announcement via VietnamNet’s English report on the five-day 2026 National Day holiday or the government’s own channel, Bao Chinh Phu.
What this means in practice: five days of domestic travel, packed flights and trains, full hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, and a District 1 with considerably more people in it than a normal Wednesday.

2. What closes in Ho Chi Minh City, and what does not
Good news first. Vietnam does not shut down for National Day the way it does for Tet. The city stays awake, and finding a spa open on National Day is far easier here than during Tet.
Open as normal, or busier than normal:
- Restaurants, cafés, street food stalls
- Shopping malls and convenience stores
- Museums and most tourist attractions
- Bui Vien walking street and the whole night-time economy
- Taxis and ride-hailing apps
- Massage spas and wellness businesses — Siz Spa among them, as a spa open on National Day throughout
Closed or on reduced hours:
- Government offices, embassies and consulates — all closed
- Banks — closed, though ATMs work normally
- Post offices — closed or on short hours
- Some family-run shops that close so the family can travel
- Certain clinics and dental practices
Expect disruption around: the city centre on the morning of 2 September. Nguyen Hue and the streets near the Independence Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral usually see events, flags, crowds and rolling road closures. Traffic is heavier and slower, and this is worth building into your plans if you have a booking to reach.
A quiet, air-conditioned room is a genuinely strategic choice on a day like that — which is part of why a spa open on National Day is one of the more reliable things on a 2/9 itinerary. For everything else worth doing nearby, see our guide to exploring District 1.
3. Why a spa open on National Day fills up fast
Every spa open on National Day serves three groups at once, and they all want the same evening slots.
Domestic travellers. Ho Chi Minh City is one of the top destinations for the National Day break, and a five-day run means people come from Hanoi, Da Nang and the Mekong provinces rather than just the neighbouring provinces. Many book a massage as part of the trip.
Local residents. People who work six days a week and never have a free Tuesday suddenly have three of them. Spas in District 1 see far more Vietnamese guests during holidays than on ordinary weekdays.
International tourists. September sits in the shoulder season, the rain comes in short bursts rather than all day, and the city is comfortable to walk. Foreign visitors do not stop arriving because it is a national holiday.
Add the fact that fewer spas run a full team through the holiday — some reduce hours, some close for a day or two so staff can travel home — and the arithmetic is simple. Demand up, supply down. Any spa open on National Day with a good reputation will be running near capacity from late afternoon onward.
The practical consequence: 18:00 to 21:00 on 1 and 2 September will be the hardest slots to get. Mornings and early afternoons are wide open. If you are flexible, book at 10:00 or 14:00 and you will have the pick of the menu and the calmest room in the building.
4. Siz Spa: a spa open on National Day, every day of the break
We are a spa open on National Day in the fullest sense: open throughout, no reduced hours, no closed days, no shortened menu.
| Details | |
|---|---|
| Holiday hours | 10:00 – 22:15, every day |
| Address | 154 Cong Quynh Street, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1 |
| Phone / WhatsApp / Zalo | 0775 271878 |
| Walk from Bui Vien | About 5 to 7 minutes |
| Menu during the holiday | Complete — every treatment and every package available |
Location is the other reason to choose a spa open on National Day close to where you are staying. We are a few minutes on foot from Bui Vien and Pham Ngu Lao, which matters on a holiday when traffic in the centre is unpredictable and a taxi across three blocks can take twenty minutes. More than 1,600 Google reviews sit behind the spa, most of them from international guests, and the treatments are carried out in clean private rooms by trained therapists.
If this is your first massage in Vietnam, our first-timer’s guide covers what to wear, what happens in the room and how to ask for the pressure you want — worth five minutes before you arrive.
5. Our signature treatments
This is what a spa open on National Day is worth coming for. The full menu with durations is on the services page; these are the treatments guests ask for by name.
Siz Signature Body Massage — 60 / 75 / 90 / 120 min
Our own technique, and the most-booked thing we do. Essential oils, warm stones and gentle assisted stretches combined in one session, with the therapist moving between methods rather than repeating one for an hour. If you only book once during the holiday, book this.
Aroma Massage — 60 / 75 / 90 / 120 min
Flowing oil strokes with a botanical blend chosen to match how you actually feel that day. The calmest thing on the menu and the right answer after a loud morning in the crowds. See the aroma massage page, or our guide to choosing oils.
Hot Stone Massage — 60 / 75 / 90 / 120 min
Warm basalt stones placed and glided along the back and shoulders. The heat does the work, so the pressure stays moderate — ideal for guests who want results without a firm touch. More in our hot stone guide.
Four Hands Massage — 60 / 90 min
Two therapists working at the same time, one on the upper body and one on the lower. It is the most time-efficient treatment we offer, which makes it a favourite during a packed holiday schedule. Read what a four hands session is actually like.
Cupping Aroma Therapy — 60 / 90 / 120 min
Warm cups worked along the back and shoulders alongside aromatic oils. Distinctive, traditional, and the treatment guests are most curious about. Details in our cupping aroma therapy guide.
Herbal Hair Wash — 45 / 70 min
The most Vietnamese thing on our menu and the one visitors are most surprised by. Pandan, lemongrass and ginseng, warm herbal steam, and a long scalp massage. The 70-minute version adds head, neck and shoulder work plus basic facial care. Hair wash slots are limited and need to be confirmed directly by phone, Zalo or WhatsApp — during the holiday, message us early. See the hair wash page.
Body Scrub — 60 min
Rice bran for sensitive skin, coffee for a brightening finish, pink salt for rough patches. Our comparison of which scrub suits which skin type explains the difference in a minute.
Packages — 90 to 120 min
Six combinations, built for guests who want more than one thing in a single visit:
- The Luxe Escape — 60 min foot massage + 45 min hair wash (105 min)
- Signature Spa Escape — 60 min body massage + 30 min hair wash (90 min)
- Velvet Touch Escape — 90 min body massage + 30 min hair wash (2 hours)
- The Melt Away Journey — 90 min body massage + 30 min foot massage (2 hours)
- The Ultimate Relax & Refresh — 90 min body massage + 30 min facial massage (2 hours)
- Head-to-Heart Harmony — 90 min body massage + 30 min head, neck and shoulders (2 hours)
Full descriptions on the packages page. Packages are the most popular booking of the holiday, because a five-day break is exactly when people finally have two spare hours.
6. A five-day plan for the 2/9 break
If you are in Saigon for the whole run, here is how to spread a spa open on National Day across five days rather than using it all in one afternoon.
| Day | Suggested treatment | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sat 29 Aug | 60 min foot massage | Travel day for most. Feet first, nothing demanding |
| Sun 30 Aug | 90 min Signature Body Massage | The one full session of the trip, before the city gets busiest |
| Mon 31 Aug | 45 min herbal hair wash | Short, restorative, and you look presentable for the holiday photos |
| Tue 1 Sep | Velvet Touch Escape, 2 hours | Book the afternoon. The evening will be full |
| Wed 2 Sep | 60 min head, neck and shoulders | After the crowds and the flags. Book before 16:00 |

7. How to book a spa open on National Day
Booking a spa open on National Day is not difficult, but five things make the difference between getting the slot you want and being offered 21:45.
- Book at least a day ahead for 1 and 2 September. Two or three days ahead for an evening slot.
- Message for hair wash and four hands. Both have limited capacity. Phone, Zalo or WhatsApp on 0775 271878 is faster than any form.
- Choose mornings and early afternoons. 10:00 to 15:00 is quiet, unhurried, and available.
- Allow extra travel time on 2 September. Road closures near the Independence Palace and Nguyen Hue push traffic sideways across the district. Walking from Bui Vien takes about six minutes and no traffic can stop it.
- Arrive 15 minutes early. Standard practice here, and during a holiday it is what protects your full session length.
Book online through the booking page, or message 0775 271878 on WhatsApp or Zalo. Our full booking guide covers the process step by step, and if you are wondering about the etiquette, tipping at a Vietnamese spa answers the question most guests are too polite to ask.
8. Frequently asked questions
Is Siz Spa a spa open on National Day 2026? Yes. We are open every day of the holiday, 10:00 to 22:30, including 2 September itself, with the full treatment menu available.
When exactly is the 2026 National Day holiday in Vietnam? The public-sector break runs five days, Saturday 29 August to Wednesday 2 September 2026. The statutory holiday days are 1 and 2 September. Private-sector employees get 2 September plus one adjacent day chosen by their employer.
Is everything closed in Ho Chi Minh City on 2 September? No. Government offices, banks and embassies close, but restaurants, malls, attractions, taxis and spas operate normally. Expect crowds and road closures near the city centre in the morning.
Do prices go up during the holiday? Not at Siz Spa. There is no holiday surcharge on any treatment or package.
Should I book ahead or can I walk in? Walk-ins are usually possible before 15:00. For 1 and 2 September, and for any evening slot, book ahead — those fill first.
Are spas busier than usual during the 2/9 holiday? Yes. Demand rises while some businesses reduce hours, so any well-reviewed spa open on National Day runs close to capacity from late afternoon. Morning and early-afternoon slots stay comfortable.
Which treatment should I choose if I only have time for one? The Siz Signature Body Massage at 90 minutes. It is our own technique and the treatment most guests come back for.
Can I book a hair wash during the holiday? Yes, but hair wash availability is confirmed directly rather than through the online form. Message 0775 271878 on WhatsApp or Zalo as early as you can.
How far is Siz Spa from Bui Vien walking street? About a five to seven minute walk. We are at 154 Cong Quynh Street in District 1 — see our guide to spas near Bui Vien.
Five days off is more time than most people in this city get all year. Spend an hour of it properly, at a spa open on National Day that keeps its full menu running. Siz Spa is a spa open on National Day and every other day — book your session or message 0775 271878 on WhatsApp or Zalo.
